Dear All,
Today is Monday, December 19, 2011
Wi-Fi was down for a bit in the bush but hopefully you get this. We have just finished up our first stay in the bush. Our schedule for the last three days has been:
5 a.m. wake up to the drums.
5:30 leave for game drive.
Viewing of wildlife
9 a.m. back to camp for breakfast.
Rest!
2 p.m. lunch
3:30-4 pm ish leave for night game drive.
8 ish return to camp for dinner
10:30 pm BED!
Its been a rigorous schedule. Everyone is tired and needs a nap.
We have encountered 3 of THE BIG FIVE! The 5 are rhino, elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo. We are still in search of the elusive lions and leopards amongst other things.
We are moving to another safari camp today, and will be ready to roll at 4:30 for our night game drive.
Enjoy the pics! Sorry about the bug pics – they are nasty. Spiders, bugs and all creepy crawling things are “Chernobyll” sized!
Pictures out of order too - bare with!

Great pictures Kara! What is the weather like? You all seem to be wearing coats or a blanket.

Weather here is great! in the a.m. we are in yoga pants and long sleeve t shirt. for afternoon game ride we start with shorts and hats (always sunglasses and sunscreen) then as soon as it starts to get dark, about 7 ish, need a fleece. they have blankets in the land cruisers too. its about a 20 degree swing on any given day or more. 90's mid-day, then 60's. wild!
ReplyDeletemom would not like the very large bugs. Also, everything has 3" thorns on it! watch out for them!
