London Heathrow

Wow, that was a quick flight.  Made it in record time over the pond.  A huge tail wind aided our first leg of travel.  We had to circle London for a while as everyone likes to land between 6 a.m and 6:10 a.m.

Immigration in London was a joy - NOT.  Some folks in front of us where having visa issues etc.  However, since we had a 12 hour layover, no worries!  Customs was a breeze, so all is good.

We checked into Hotel Sofitel adjacent to Heathrow, where everyone promptly fell asleep for hours.  After a bit of naping and showering, back at British Airways lounge at the airport.

Our next leg is 13 hours.  Jeff says it gets a "little bumpy" crossing the equator due to all the crazy storms that kick off the continent of Africa.  We pray the children sleep, since they were too excited to sleep from Chicago to London.  Hopefully, they will get so bored after more movies, they will sleep.  We are to land in Johannesburg (aka JoBurg) around noon, and will let you all know we arrived safely; of course.

We have already had our first injury; nothing serious.  Mom (Kara) decided to whack maddie in the forehead with the very hard plastic bin used to go through security.  She has a nice large welt on her forehead and a few tears.  Let hope that's the least of our dramas.

Gotta run, hope everyone is well.  Our journey has just begun..................will be  back with you soon.
